One of our favorite parts of our job is seeing what inspires people to create their theme for the year. We were excited when the Hockettes Synchronized Skating Team (novice) showed us their inspiration from "My Fair Lady."
The precision that goes into making a gorgeous skate dress is complex. And this dress was no exception! With multiple types of fabric (silk, lace, hologram and sublimated poly) and detailed patterning, we we were thrilled to see it all come together.
We sublimated the black and white stripe fabric to ensure the stripes were the correct size to perfectly match the "My Fair Lady" inspiration garment.
The subtle soft pink fabric under the white lace gives great texture to the dress.
And the finishing touches bring it all together! Obviously the skaters couldn't wear a gigantic hat while skating, but they didn't want to sacrifice the signature look of "My Fair Lady." Enter enormous and adorable bow.
The creativity and stand out "My Fair Lady" dress for the Hockettes Novice team was both innovative and lovely (...we had to.) Congrats on a great season, ladies!
