# Team Spotlight: Louisville Ladybirds Dance Team, 2016 NDA National Champions!

A little over a week ago, one of our favorite customers, [The Louisville Ladybirds](https://www.facebook.com/UofLLadybirds/), conquered the [NDA College Championships](http://varsity.com/event/schresult/2020/2016_nca_nda_college) with two very big wins: **Division 1A Team Performance AND Division 1A Hip Hop**. So what inspired this team to totally rule the NDA stage all weekend? [**Coach Todd Sharp**](https://www.instagram.com/coachtoddsharp/) from the Ladybirds gave us the scoop:
### Team Performance - "Coming Home" in their Red Dance Costume
> *"We were very inspired to go back and take the crown again this year as the **defending champions from 2015**. Of the 15 National Championship titles, the University of Louisville Ladybirds have to our credit 13 titles that have been captured on the band shell in Daytona Beach.*
>
> *That gave me the idea to use the song **"I'm Coming Home" by Diddy.** That finals floor on the band shell in Daytona Beach has became our "home" in terms of accomplishing our goals and realizing our dreams as a team.*
>
> *For some reason the minute I listened to that song, **I just had a vision of our girls dressed in RED from head to toe**. The costumes you created for us were absolutely stunning on the floor and made my vision come to life! We had literally hundreds and hundreds of compliments on them! "*

### Hip Hop - The Performance of a Lifetime
After their big win for Team Performance, The Ladybirds Dance Team went back on stage the next day with another mind-blowing routine for Hip Hop. Coach [Todd Sharp](https://www.instagram.com/coachtoddsharp/) continued,
> *"We entered finals in that division in second place to the defending Hip Hop Champion Brigham Young University. **In finals our kids gave the performance of a lifetime!** It was one of those moments as a coaching staff that we were just blown away by our kids! **They were electric!** They had the crowd in the palm of their hands from beginning to end!*
>
> *Being crowned National Champions in that division and taking our second title for the weekend was **one of the greatest experiences in my 16 years with this program!** And hands-down is the greatest memory of this past season!*
>
> *The red hip-hop pants and gloves you created for us looked amazing on the floor. The style and color highlighted our choreography perfectly!"*

> *"Thank you so much for all you do for us each and every year! We truly consider you to be part of our team and a huge part of our success!" [Todd](http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/so-sharp/cast/todd-sharp) added.*
Congrats to the Louisville Ladybirds Dance Team once again for their back-to-back wins! We can't wait for what's in store for next year!
And don't forget to catch "***[So Sharp](http://www.mylifetime.com/shows/so-sharp)," ***premiering 7/26/17 on *Lifetime*!
