This past January, synchronized skating teams across all levels competed at the Midwestern and Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Championships held in Wichita, Kansas! Of course our favorite part about the event is cataloging all of the skating dress trends!  This year we saw a lot of deep-v necklines, plenty of ombres, and the ever-trending vibrant colors that pop on the ice.

North Dakota high school dance teams brought their season to an exciting culmination at the 2018 NDADD State Dance Competition last month, competing in Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop, and High Kick!

We love how certain dance communities have created their own costume trends, and North Dakota is no exception! If it's a unitard, or velvet, we know it's probably a North Dakota team! These ladies know how to rock these unique looks.

Many synchronized skating teams across all levels competed at the Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectionals in Fort Meyers, Florida, this month!  From a whimsical La La Land  theme, to an exotic Avatar theme - we had so much fun seeing all of the fabulous synchronized skating dresses from the event!

While it was hard to neglect football in Minnesota this past weekend (Skol Vikes, NFC North Champs!!), but we'll admit we were waaaayy more excited about UDA College nationals!  It's one of the most captivating competitions in the season, and always a source of endless inspiration for costume trends. 

The Iowa State Dance and Drill Association Championship is one of the largest dance competitions in the Nation, combining both solos, high school, and college dance teams from multiple categories for a full weekend of dance! This year's competition was held earlier this month on Noveber 30th - December 1st.  For a full list of the results and categories visit their website!

UCONN Dance Team with a fun, sporty and feminine look!  

The 2017 dance competition season officially came to a close last weekend with the 2017 NDA College Nationals!   

College dance teams have been known to sport a lot of unitard looks at NDA, but this year we saw teams mix it up quite a bit!  Check out some of our favorite dance costume trends from the competition (some by TLU, and some by others).

It was an exhilarating weekend for synchronized skating fans - the 2017 World Synchronized Skating Championship was held in sunny Colorado Springs!  

We were excited to be able to take a field trip to Colorado watch the international competition in person!  24 teams from 19 different countries competed for the world synchronized skating title - so much amazing talent!

Our favorite part?  The skating dresses, of course!  We can't take credit for these stunning dresses, but here are a few of our favorite costume trends from the competition!

A few trends we spotted?  Plenty of sequin lace, jewel tones, and romantic looks still rule for jazz costumes.  

For kick, leggings are still the favorite to emphasize lines!  But we loved spotting a few costumes that pushed genres like St Charles' football kick routine with a hip hop edge, and Chaska's Odyssey themed high kick costume with a jazz feel.

University of Michigan Synchronized Skating team took the Collegiate National title!

The synchronized skating season came to an exciting conclusion this past weekend with the 2017 US Synchronized Skating Nationals in Rockford, Illinois!  Teams competed for the national titles and a chance to go to Worlds!  What's next?  The Haydenettes and Crystalettes will be headed to ISU's Synchro Worlds in Colorado Springs this April, representing Team USA!  Congratulations, ladies!
