The Academy of Holy Angels found inspiration for their jazz costume this year from the diva herself: CHER!
The Holy Angels coaches referenced the image below of a Cher concert for the direction of their jazz costume. Cher is known for her bigger than life costuming (and hair!) so our designers were eager to see where the design process took them.
The asymmetrical black wrap added a great dimension to the garment and accentuated the choreography; it also grabbed the audiences' attention immediately when the dancers walked onto the floor.
One great way to make your costume really pop is to have different shades of the same color (like Holy Angels did this past year in red) to give dimension and texture to the costume.
We love the intensity and commitment to the performance these dancers have.
Congratulations on a great costume, inspiration and season, ladies! And here's a video of the routine!

A great program that the Holy Angels Dance Team will be starting this fall is their Jr. Starliner program for 6th-8th grade dancers. Information will be posted on their website.
