The Line Up Got a Makeover!

Posted by Deb on Jun 9, 2016

 All_Staff_-_June_2016-edit.jpg

Once upon a time, The Line Up was one person (a much younger and more energetic me, Deb Erickson) scurrying about patterning, cutting, sewing, and discovering ways to make you look great. Today, The Line Up has evolved into a team of 40+ individuals!  I  am constantly amazed when I watch our powerful and talented talent group work together to create fashion forward performance apparel for you.

Last year we celebrated our 25th anniversary, and it was a time to reflect on who we are and where we are going.  We had so many questions!  And as we answered these questions  as we matured to the age of 26 - we decided it was time for a makeover! Let me tell you about our new brand!

Miami University of Ohio’s Synchronized Skating Team is an entity unlike any of it's fellow collegiate programs. This program is made up of three unique teams which cover all altitudes of skating abilities at post-secondary level: Junior, Collegiate, and Senior. The University is able to recruit skaters from across the country for it's many teams, creating a one-of-a-kind program for skating.

Head Coach Carla DeGirolamo talked to us about their top-leveled Senior Team who recently went to the 2016 ISU Worlds Figure Skating Championships for the second year in a row. Only two teams from the United States are able to go each year, proving this Miami University to be a power-house for our National Synchronized Skating programs! Coach Carla's biggest challenge? Getting this team ready for their competition season in a very short period of time. With this team being able to compete at the national and international level, it is clear that her and her athletes rose to the challenge and made their season a successful one!

Team Spotlight: University of Minnesota Duluth Brings Confidence to the NDA Stage

Posted by Brooke on Apr 22, 2016
UMD Dance Team with 2nd place trophy

This fall, the University of Minnesota Duluth Dance Team shared their new game day look with us, and we recently caught up with them again after they competed at NDA Championships this month! The team had an amazing performance at college nationals, finishing runner up in Division II Team Performance!

Finding Inspiration in 'Revolution'

UMD Captain Melanie explained the concept behind their routine this season:

"For our dance this year our theme was queen bee, which turned into the concept of 'revolution.' We had the idea of being fierce and confident women. It was incorporated in our choreography and costumes by adding strong, sharp movements and moments where we could feed off of each other's energy. We added in a lot of team breaths to increase the intensity of our jazz section."

"The costumes have a sassy fierce look to them which completely added to our theme! The music was powerful and emphasized all the movements that we wanted to be strong, and it flowed where we wanted it to be smooth," Melanie said.

The combination of feminine lace and and bold back straps on this custom dance costume definitely portrays the fierce and confident female look they were going for!

The New Alternative to The Skate Practice Dress

Posted by Trista on Apr 14, 2016

Erie Leo, 575-17 mix and match_01-small

When it comes to synchronized skating practice wear it’s easy to get stuck in a rut. Black skate dress, black jacket, embroidered logo. Looking for something new to shake things up? How about trying mix and match pieces instead!?

Use three items – a stand-alone leotard, a detachable skirt, leggings - to create 2 very different looks:

  • Look #1: A detachable skirt over a leotard has the grace and elegance of a classic skating practice dress look.
  • Look #2: Leggings over a leotard gives a more streamlined look, emphasizing legwork.
